She was the daughter of William Sneed and his wife, Martha (Ware) Sneed, and the wife of Mathew F. Wallis. They were married Jan. 5, 1787 in Wake County, North Carolina, this based on her Revolutionary War Widow's Pension Application. Though it is not known how large the wagon train was, it is known she migrated to Greene County from Iredell County, North Carolina in 1836 with all of her children and their families.
