Mrs. Cora E. Douglass, widow of William Henry Douglass, died at her home Tuesday morning (1948) after a long illness. She was born in Unity, June 22, 1855, the daughter of the late Asa and Harriett (Huston) Douglass. Mrs. Douglass was holder of the Boston Post gold headed cane.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Roundy and Mrs. Hattie Rich both of Unity; two sons, Samuel and Addison of Unity; four grandchildren; three brothers, Elisha of Hampden Highlands, Burton of Unity, Linley of Thorndike,; one sister, Mrs. Susie Phillips of Thorndike.

Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday afternoon at one o'clock. Rev. Walter R. Towle, pastor of the Unity Union Church officiated. Interment was in the family lot in the Douglass Cemetery in Unity.
