Mrs. Carrie Butler Aters, 75, widow of Herbert L. Aters of 9343 Graves Road, Chesterfield County died Monday August 4, 1986 in the Hopewell Convalescent Center, Hopewell, Virginia, following a period of declining health. She was a native and lifelong resident of Chesterfield County and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Butler. Mrs. Aters was a retired employee of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. Petersburg and was a member of the Petersburg Local #187.
She is survived by a son & granddaughter, both of Petersburg, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Francis Odell Fisher, Mrs. Rose Bissette, both of Petersburg and Mrs. Myrtle Wade, Chesterfield County.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 7, 1986 at 2:00 p. m. in the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. R. Roland Powell Emeritus of Matoaca Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Graves Road Cemetery, Chesterfield County. The family will received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 p. m. to 8:30 p. m.
