James Herbert BOWMAN, 82, a resident of the Shirley Home for the Aged, Shirleysburg, formerly of Three Springs, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born May 27, 1918, in Cass Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Clem and Ida (Parks) Bowman. He was married to Velda D. Fields Aug 2, 1969, in Three Springs. Mrs. Bowman preceded him in death Jan. 11, 1980. Three sisters and one brother survive: Mary States, McConnellstown; Sara Bousum, Mapleton; Martha Witters, Philipsburg; and Alex Bowman, West Easton. Two brothers and one sister are deceased. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Cornelius Chapel United Methodist Church, Mapleton, R.D. He had worked as a farmer and as a maintenance worker for Orbisonia Borough. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be made in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, R.D.
