Born June 30, 1945 in Streator, Illinois, Sally was a daughter of the late James and Ann Cook-Zelenock.
She was raised and educated in Streator and on May 06, 1967 Sally married Monty L. Shannon in Saint Stevens Church in Streator. Together Sally and Monty moved to Coal City in 1975 and she was a parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
Sally worked at the Coal City Pharmacy for 13 years and was most recently employed by the Wilmington Public Library for the past nine years. In her free time Sally enjoyed flowers and gardening, reading and spending time with her family and two grandsons.
Survivors include her husband Monty L. Shannon, Sr.; one daughter, Shelby Lynn (Brad) Skubic of Morris, IL; one son, Monty L., Jr. (Joanna) Shannon of Glendale Heights, IL; two grandsons, Parker Alan and Dylan James Skubic of Morris, IL and her one brother James W. (Carol) Zelenock of Streator, IL.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents James W. and Ann Zelenock.
