R M Craig was the son of Lewis Jackson Craig and Maud Little Craig. He was one of four children: Mary Nadine, Betty Jo, R M and Margaret Jean Craig.

He was born June 1, 1928 in Lawrence Co., Alabama and died Dec. 30, 1969 in Cook County, Illinois (his headstone reads 1968 which is incorrect).

He married Nancy Ophelia Stroup Sept. 28, 1948 in Mississippi, daughter of Leonard Stroup and Ida Roger. They had four children: Sandra Kay, Bruce Wayne, Victor Scott and Brian Keith.

Funeral services for R.M. Craig, 41, Chicago, Ill., who died Tuesday at his residence were Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel. Kyle McWhorter officiating with burial in Ferguson Cemetery. Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the mother, Mrs. Maud Craig, Moulton Rt. 4: a daughter, Sandra Kay Craig, Kalamazoo, Mich.: three sons, Bruce Craig, Victor Craig, Brian Craig, all of Kalamazoo Mich.: three sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Rutherford, Town Creek, Rt. 1: Mrs. Nolan Hendrix, Kalamazoo, Mich.: Mrs. Ray Flemings, Moulton Rt. 4: two half-sisters: Mrs, Alek Rutherford, Town Creek Rt. 3: Mrs. Bill Palmer, Decatur: five half-brothers, Irwin Craig, Decatur: Alton Craig, Calif.: Tommy Craig, Moulton Rt. 1: Aubrey Craig, Ky.: Russell Craig, Kalamazoo, Mich.

Pallbearers were nephews.

Mr. Craig was a former resident of Lawrence County.
