Funeral for Ruby Nell Craig Roper Palmer, 87, of Decatur will be Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Martin Steelmon and the Rev. W.K. Stephenson officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. She waw born June 14, 1916 in Lawrence County to Lewis and Emma Ola Alexander Craig. She was a member of Austinville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Malcolm "Mac" Roper,five brothers, Aubrey Craig, Alton Craig, Tommy Craig, Irwin Craig and Russell Craig.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert "Bill" Palmer; two daughters, Maxine Gillispie of Moulton and Joyce Goehler and husband Paul of Decatur; two stepsons, Ervin Palmer and wife Janice of Moulton and James Palmer and wife June of Cullman; three sisters, Betty Jo Hendrix, Margaret Jean Fleming and Nadine Rutherford;and seven grandchildren.
