Mary Ann Kennington Low, 72, wife of Bp. Osborne Low of Afton passed away at her home in Afton last Friday morning, following an illness of several months. For two or three weeks previous to her death she was confined to her bed and just gradually became weaker until the end.
Mrs Low was born at Liberty, Idaho April 29, 1872, and lived there until she was 16 years of age, when she came with her parents to Star Valley.
On November 8. 1803 she was married to Osborne Low in the Logan Temple. After their marriage they made their home in Freedom for about six years, before they moved to Afton, where they have lived for about 45 years.
Mrs Low was a devoted wife and has always spent most of her time at home except to take care of her church work. For many years she was an excellent help in the Primary and Relief Society organizations.
Six children were born to Bp. and Mrs Low, five of whom are still living. They are, Osborne Low Jr. of Cheyenne, Mrs Jennie Gardner, Afton, Bessie Low who died in 1918 Mrs Wanda Staley, Smithfield, Utah, Mrs Nora Roberts, Afton, and Rolla Low, Adell Oregon. All of the children were in to attend the funeral services.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the South Ward chapel under the direction of S.T. Merritt, a member of the Bishopric.
Mrs Nellie Roberts played the prelude on the organ.
Opening son "Rock of Ages" was sung by the Ladies Conto Chorus.

Violin Solo; "Oh My Father" was played by John Omanson, accompanied on the piano by Margaret Winters.
President Royle S. Papworth paid tribute to the life and character of Sister Low.
Arch Egbert, a member of the Presidency of the Logan Temple was high in praise for Mrs Low as a mother.
Vocal Duet by Beth and Nola Allred, "In the Garden" accompanied on the piano by Lynette Barrus.
Carl Cook, a close friend and associate, praised her as a mother and close companion of her children.
Bp. J.L. Metcalf made a few remarks.

The pall bearers were from the High Priests Quorum.
The beautiful floral sprays were carried by a number of ladies.
The postlude music was played by Mrs Nellie Roberts.
The grave at the Afton Cemetery was dedicated by Sylvester Low, a brother of Bp. Osborne Low.
