Daughter of James Washington Lovins and Martha Didoma Womack. Wife of William Sylvester Teague, married December 6, 1868 in Mattoon, Coles County, IL. Children: James Finley, Wesley Jackson, William Abner, Galen Oscar, Floyd Edgar, Martha Elizabeth, Roy Pinkton, Rosy May, Dora Minnie, Claude, Walter, Ernest S, and Laura Elise.

Although the death certificate for Mary Lovins says she was born in Tennessee, all census records say Illinois. Her parents were married in Moultrie County, IL in 1848 and enumerated in the 1850 census of Moultrie County. Her parents were both born in Tennessee.
