She was born Sept. 12, 1917, in West Lafayette, to the late Jacob J. and Edna Mae Alexander Fields.
She married Walter William Koning on June 2, 1937, in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1994.
She graduated from Jefferson High School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Dayton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bird-watching, embroidering and reading her Bible.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Kelly (husband: Douglas) of Ludington, Mich.; three sons, David L. Koning (wife: Jackie) and Richard E. Koning (wife: Susan), both of Lafayette, and Robert L. Koning (wife: Linda) of Fowler; and two brothers, Milton Fields (wife: Margaret) and Paul Fields (wife: Amy), both of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, four brothers and twin grandsons, Paul David and Patrick Allen Koning.
