The following is a true statement concerning the Beight family.
Dating back to the year 1804 when the Beight family, in company with other pioneer families emigrated from Eastern Pennsylvania by ox drawn wagon train, via Fort Pitt, now Pittsburg, Pa. and settled in Mahoning County, Ohio.
When Jacob Beight, then a boy of 9 years, became of manhood, he married Susan Burkey--another pioneer's daughter. To them were born 2 sons and 4 daughters--the youngest son, Aaron Beight, born May l, 1841 in Unity tp.. Columbiana County, Ohio. He married Mary Augustine on January 25, 1868. Born to them were 3 sons and 1 daughter all in Unity tp. Columbiana Co. Ohio.
John U Beight, the youngest, was born Feb. 4, 1879 at East Palestine, Columbiana Co. Ohio and married Olive E. Duff on Sept. 22, 1908. Six children were born to them as follows:
Mary Kathryn, born Jul 17, 1909
Paul Duff, born Nov. ll, 1911
Doris Martha, born March 16, 1913
Ruth Louise, born Sept. 14, 1914
Anna Esther, born May 19, 1917
Donald Samuel, born Dec. 3, 1922 at deceased Dec 24, 1967 National City, San Diego Co. Calif
