Funeral services for Mrs. Virgil Mercier were held at 9:30 o'clock this (Thursday) morning in the Brand Memorial Chapel in Hastings. Mrs. Mercier died in Mary Lanning hospital (sic) in Hastings late Monday after a long illness. Burial was made in the Nora cemetery (sic).
Mrs. Mercier was born in Nora Oct. 16, 1902, and she also lived at Oak for a time before moving to Hastings in 1944. She was a member of the First Methodist church (sic) and the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Miss Gwen Mercier, at home; her mother, Mrs. Emma Buckert of Oak; and a brother, Elmer Buckert of Fullerton, Calif.
