Betty Jean Greer of Mansfield, TX, was born July 26, 1914, in Haileyville, OK, the daughter of John Richard and Jennie McConnell Mooney Taylor. She passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in the Mansfield Methodist Hospital at the age of 93.
A resident of Mansfield for the past year, Mrs. Greer had previously made her home in Marietta since 2001. She and Charles Albert Greer were married in Oklahoma City, OK, on December 29, 1934, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1996.
A homemaker, Mrs. Greer also worked as a sales clerk in a department store while living in California. Her hobby was crocheting baby blankets. While living in Sallisaw, OK, she crocheted for the Pregnancy Crisis Center and in Marietta for the "Bundle of Joy" Ministry. Mrs. Greer was a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Larry Greer on May 9, 1986; a daughter, Judy Segler on December 4, 1994; and a sister, Lu Smith
