Kenneth was the fourth of eight children. He married Betty Jean Cobleigh on April 27, 1940 at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church, Grove Street, Wilkes-Barre. The couple had three sons and one daughter who died as an infant. His first wife died in 1967, and on May 8, 1969, Kenneth married Lois E. Kelly.
