James Johnston immigrated to Pennsylvania Colony with his wife, Nancy Walpole, in the early 1700s. James and Nancy, married in 1726, were the parents of Mary (Johnston) Johnston (b. 1728) and Sarah (Johnston) Gordon (b. 1736). On January 7, 1740, at the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pa., James married Elizabeth (Brown) Findlay. James and Elizabeth became the parents of James Johnston, Thomas Johnston, Mary (Johnston) Beatty, John Johnston, Martha (Johnston) Campbell Spear, Robert Johnston and Elizabeth (Johnston) Boggs.

James Johnston Born in the north of Ireland Died A.D. 1765 From documents still extant he settled on the land on which he died as early as 1735, and was probably the first white settler in what is now Antrim Township Franklin Co

Gravesite Details James Johnston was buried in the Johnston Family Graveyard then was removed to Cedar Hill much later.
