LACROSSE -- William E. Kasten, 57, died at 9 a.m. today at his home after a short illness.
Kasten was born in Medaryville May 21, 1899, the son of the late Charles and Ricca Kasten. On Dec. 27, 1917, he married Theresa Engels of LaCrosse.
He had resided in LaCrosse for 20 years and was an employee of the state highway department. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic church in LaCrosse and the Holy Name Society of that church.
Surviving besides the widow are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Alt, one son, Edward, both of LaCrosse; three brothers, Leon, Monticello; Martin, Medaryville; and Arthur, Cleveland. One brother, Leslie, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the family home in LaCrosse after 7 p.m. Sunday. Services are incomplete.
The Wiesjahn Funeral home in Wanatah is in charge of arrangements.
