Mr. Damme died May 16, 1909. The oldest son, George, died May 16, 1897. Three children died quite young. Deceased is mourned by three sons, Charles, Herman and John, her six daughters, Mrs. Louise Butz, Mrs. Minnie Weber, Mrs. Christine Schacht, Mrs. Katie Nabor, Mrs. Caroline Abele, and Miss Mathilde Damme. Her sister, Mrs. Martin Hempken, at Great Bend, Kans., four brothers, Harm, Gerhard, Albert, and Dick Neemann and more than one-hundred close relatives. Mrs. Damme had a large circle of friends who will sadly miss her. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones.
Funeral services were held Friday, noon, December 15, Rev. J. Abele preaching the sermon and conducting the services. The body was laid to rest in St. Paul's cemetery where her husband and children, her parents and her two sisters are also sleeping and awaiting the coming of the great resurrection morning.
