Arlise M. Anderson, 80, of Sioux City died Friday, June 20, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Covenant Church, with the Rev. Rich Moore officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arlise M. Anderson was born March 7, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of Arthur E. and Esther (Larson) Mord. She graduated from Wausa High School in Wausa, Neb. After high school, she graduated from Methodist School of Nursing in Sioux City.
She married Stanley Anderson on March 4, 1950, in Wausa, Neb. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital, where she was a head nurse and later became the admitting nurse coordinator.
She loved to garden and in her later years, worked at Fishers Florists. She also had a passion for serving her church family. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and shared that with others through Swedish decorations and food. She enjoyed music, needlework and camping with her family. In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her family in Arizona and Spirit Lake, Iowa.
She was a member of First Covenant Church, were she was a past president of the local and state Covenant Women's Association. She also served in the National CWA board and was a member of the local Christian Women's Club.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley W. Anderson of Sioux City; four children, Tom W. (Kathleen) Anderson of Sioux City, Marilyn (Jack) Feimster of Byron, Ill., Margene Anderson of Minneapolis and Doug (Amy) Anderson of Warrensburg, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Jamie (Steve) Hoshaw, Sara Lambert, Michael (Kim) Lambert, Daniel, John and Jim Feimster, Todd, Mark, Sean and Beth Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Lexie and Ava Lambert; and two sisters, Mary Jo Mord of Columbus, Neb., and Mardene (David) Kroeger of Fremont, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
