Herman Conley, age 75, passed away quietly on June 25, 2008. Herman was born in Breathitt County, KY. on September 9, 1932, the son of Cevard Conley and Cora Smith Conley. He grew up in Rensselaer, Indiana, graduating for Wheatfield High School in Wheatfield, Indiana. He served in the United States Air Force, fought in the Korean conflict and has been a Pensacola resident since 1953. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying many sports and participating in softball, baseball, golf, hunting and fishing throughout his life.
Surviving him is his wife of 55 years Mary Gwen Whitson Conley, sons; Michael A. Conley and his wife Faye, Keith W. Conley and his wife Shan, granddaughters; Lauren and Ashton Conley, brothers; Denny Conley (Josi), Thurman Conley (Joan), Hurley Conley, Roby Conley and Raymond Conley, sisters; Barbara Davis (Ova) and Pearlie Timmons.
Services will be held at Lathram Chapel Methodist Church on June 27,2008 at 3:00 pm in the afternoon.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lathram Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 70, Cantonment, Florida.
Faith Chapel Funeral Home North 1000 Highway 29 South Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
