John Adair With Machine Run Down by Load of Logs
John Adair of Sawyer, aged 33 years, was almost instantly killed at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon when the Caterpillar tractor which he was operating, was overturned and he was crushed beneath it.
Mr. Adair had a log hauling contract for Earl Merritt of Edgemere, and it was while he was with the tractor hauling a sleigh load of logs that the accident happened that caused his death.
He was proceeding down a hill road when the rough lock on the sleigh gave way and the load plunged down upon and overturned the tractor, Mr. Adair being crushed beneath the machine. when taken out he was dead.
John Adair was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Adair, pioneers, who had resided in the vicinity of Sawyer and Priest River for 20 years.
He was unmarried.
