Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. E.L. Smothers, pastor, for James Maurice Jarrett, 22, automobile accident victim. Burial followed in the city cemetery with Spry directing.


Pallbearers were Frank Gray, Hollis Miller, Eugene Greenhaw, Robert Tennison, Grady Paul Craig and J.E. Smith.


Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jarrett; one brother, one sister and grandparents.

Mr. Jarrett, an Athens taxi driver, was killed Wednesday night. The accident took place at the intersection of Hines and Brown's Ferry Street just a few minutes before midnight.
