She was born Sept. 17, 1928 to William Robert and Thelma Rose Varney Marrott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, grandson, Jason Walker, parents, and sister, Colleen. Our loving mother passed away peacefully at home after a prolonged illness.
She married Lloyd D. Boren on June 1, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1945. They are the parents of 6 children. She was a member of the LDS church and served actively for many years in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society. Dawna Mae served in the name extraction program and also served at the UT Valley Regional Family History Mission from 1996 -1997 with Lloyd.
Dawna Mae excelled in all types of needlework, ceramics, and painting. She was very creative and used her talents to beautify her home and share with her family. She loved to garden, sew, camp, hunt, and fish with her family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and great love for everyone she met.
She is survived by children Susan (Ed) Huhtala, Shawna (Cal) Leach, Sharlynn (Lynn) Walker, Steve (Paula) Boren, Sterling (Margaret) Boren, Stan (Joyce) Boren. She leaves behind 29 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary in Pleasant Grove, Friday, June 27th from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 AM at the Battle Creek LDS Chapel at 1250 East 200 South in Pleasant Grove. The Viewing will be at 10:00 AM prior to Service.
Interment following services in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
