Mabel Adele Stewart was the daughter of William Riley Stewart & Butriss Fowler Stewart, and the granddaughter of William Fowler & Avaline Thompson Fowler. She was born in Childress County, Texas, but grew up in Paducah, Cottle County.

She married Daniel Monroe Craven, Jr. around 1913. By the 1920 Census, the family is living in Dallas, Texas, where they had welcomed their first three children: Daniel Stuart in 1914, Duane in 1916, and Donald Everett in 1918. Their youngest child, Carolinda Adele, arrived in 1921. Daniel was working as a pharmacist.

Between 1935 and 1940, Mabel moved to Los Angeles on her own and was working as a designer for a ladies' hat manufacturer. Her sons Daniel and Donald along with her daughter Carolinda were all living in the Los Angeles area as well.

In 1947, Mabel married Archibald Cleveland Renfro in Santa Ana, California. The couple was living in Whittier, California, in 1950, where her husband was listed as not working while Mable ran a fur remodeling business out of her own home. At some point after the 1950 Census, the couple divorced. Archibald remained in California until his death in 1973. Mable moved back to Texas and died there in 1971.
