Dillar O. Ames, Sr., 84, of Kouts, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the V.N.A Horton Hospice Center.
He was born September 20, 1920 in Blackstone, IL to Fred L. and Mary Ann (Conaty) Ames.
He was a long time area farmer and built Butler Grain Bins for Chester, Inc.
He is survived by his wife Ellen and seven children: Caroline (Edward) Lester of Valparaiso, Dillar (Patricia) Ames, Jr. of Francesville, Timothy (Joyce) Ames of Valparaiso, Cindrea (Kenneth) Susdorf of Kouts, William, (late Brenda) Ames of Kouts, Todd (Evelyn) Ames of Kouts, Mary (Fred) Yaggie of Francesville; two step children: Larry (Eileen) Dibkey of Westville and Judy (Bob) Stinnett of Louden, TN; two sisters: Harriet Scarborough of Union Mills and Cleo Ewald of Walkerton. 18 Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred on June 14, 1970; two grandsons: William and Arthur Ames; one stepson, Donald Dibkey and a step grandson Dean Dibkey.
Funeral service will be Wednesday May 18th 10 a.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home in Kouts, with the Ministering Brothers of the Apostolic Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in LaCrosse.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 17th 4-8 p.m.
