Starke – Clyde Albert Lasher of Starke died Tuesday at Bradford Hospital in Starke after a long illness. He was 82. Born in Montgomeryville, Pa., Mr. Lasher lived in Pennsylvania and Miami for many years before moving to Starke in 1973. He was a retired teacher and principal who devoted 31 years of his life to education. He was a sixth-grade teacher in Dade County for 18 years and previously was principal of Conway, Pa. at the Conway school, Mr. Lasher every year took the ninth-graders to Washington, D.C., for an education field trip, after leading them in fund-raisers to finance the trip. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Stark. Survivors include his wife, Ruth H. Lasher of Starke; two daughters, Janet Ladwig of Miami and Margaret Parrott of Norwich, Vt.; and six grandchildren.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a retired principal and teacher, having spent 31 years in this field. Survivors include his wife ruth H. Allen Lasher of Starke; two daughters, Janet Ladwig of Miami and Margaret Parrot of Norwich, VT and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. in DeWitt C. Jones Chapel, Starke, with Rev. Jerry Patton officiating. Burial will be in Crosby Lake Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Starke. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Building Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 921 E. Call St., Starke, FL 32091.
