Services for Kenneth Glenn Landers, 66, of Denton, were held Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Church of Christ Minister Perry Cowan officiating. Mr. Landers passed away May 29, 2007, in Denton after a long illness with COPD.

Born December 18, 1940, in Tucumcari, N.M.,his family moved back to Texas when Ken was only a baby. Kenneth grew up in East Dallas in his early years and attended O.M. Roberts Elementary. The family moved to North Dallas and Ken attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He was employed at Denton Independent School District before his retirement.

Ken first married Dorothy Marie Skelton in Dallas and they had four children:
Cynthia Elizabeth, Steven, Jeffrey and James.

He later married Johnnie Bishop in Dallas.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Bishop Landers; sons, Steven Landers, Jeffrey Landers and James Landers; daughters, Cynthia Landers Rojas, Step-daughters Lora Lee DuJardin and Laura Ann Jones; brother, John Richard Landers; and sister, Nealy Jo Patterson, and several grandchildren.
Ken is a descendant of pioneer East Texas families of Upshur County, Tx. Although he was born in New Mexico, and grew up in Dallas, East Texas was always considered the "home base" of the family.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
