He married Lawanda Jean Dye in Ypsilanti, Mi. on July 30, 1966. Surviving are his wife of Northville, Mi. his parents of Belle, W. Va; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Donna Jean) Osborne of Euagalle, Florida, Mrs. Harold (Verna) Dawson of Lakeland, Florida, Mrs Kermit (Betty) Rogers of Newton, W. Va., Mrs. John (Vera) Williams of Diamond, W. Va., Shirley and Sharon Bird both of Belle, W. Va. ; one brother, John R. Bird of Ypsilanti, Mi.; half sisters, Mrs. Clinton Jones of Belleville, Michigan, Mrs. Roy Smith of Oakhill, W. Va.; Mrs L. G. Drake of Clendenin, W. Va., two half brothers, James Bird of Huntington, Ind., Burl Bird of Hartford City, Ind.; paternal grandfather, Mr. Henry Bird of Lizemore, W. Va., several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 from Fidler & Frame Funeral Home in Belle, W. Va.
