LaGean Dell Walker, 77, of Lolo passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2008, in her home while under the care of Partners in Home Care Hospice after a long battle with lung disease. She was born June 1, 1931, to Milton and Lula Armstrong of Mohall, N.D., and raised on her family's farm in Clay Township all of her younger years. She married her late husband Roy Walker on Aug. 15, 1948, in Mohall.

Following LaGean's dream of the big city, the young couple moved to Seattle and from there they traveled the Southwest. In 1954 after the birth of their eldest daughter Cindy, they found themselves in El Paso, Texas, where LaGean pursued her career in cosmetology and graduated from the Southwest Beauty College in 1961. She accomplished this while completing her family with the birth of Karen and then Gayle. She managed her home and family while continuing her career as a cosmetologist.

It was 1970 when they relocated to the Missoula area and finally settled down permanently in Lolo. LaGean was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed spending time in her garden and creating many delicious baked and canned goods with the fruits and vegetables that she grew. Spending time fishing, boating, and camping with her family were also things that she valued and loved in her life.

LaGean's surviving family includes her sister Erma Monson of Great Falls, her three daughters Cindy Josephson of Medford, Ore., Karen Medenwaldt of Fargo, N.D., and Gayle Hafner of Lolo.

She had four grandchildren Gerold Floyd, Gina Nichols, Chuck Mann, and Jesse Josephson, and eight great-grandchildren with one more on the way, Justine, Brittney, Megan, Zarah, Devon, Torissa Jo, Ethan, Evan, and Baby.
