Marian T. Wagener, 90, of Oak Park Place, formerly of 1788 Avalon Road, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Oak Park Place.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Knepper officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m. and a Power of Prayer rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.

She was born on May 31, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of Edward and Marjorie (Canavan) Stumm. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.

She married Paul P. Wagener on Sept. 6, 1941, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on March 10, 2000.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and Rosary Society, Power of Prayer and Lay Marian Movement of Priests.

Marian was a devoted Catholic and a prayerful lady.

Surviving are a son, Richard "Dick" (Mary) Wagener; three daughters, Mary Ruff, Betty (William) Speirs and Elaine (David) Sadewasser, all of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren, Mike Wagener, Kari Gordon, Linda Wagener, Tom Wagener, Jody Ruff, Kelly Ruff, Stacie Speirs-Pfeiffer, Kristie Speirs-Neumeister, Steve Speirs, Tim Dougherty, Joe Sadewasser and Lisa Sadewasser; 16 great-grandchildren, she was awaiting the arrival of three more great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, the Rev. Donald J. Wagener, on April 17, 2004; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlette and Jerry Murray, Bernadine and Les Cooling, Charlyn and Ferd Schnebeck and Marguerite and Herb Welter; and twin grandsons, James and Patrick Wagener, in infancy.
