Melba Dean Bateman Holt passed away on June 17, 2008 at her home of Natural Causes. She resided at 291 East Nashua Street (4300 South) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.
Born June 24, 1915 in Sandy, UT, daughter of Joseph Deseret and Lenora Baguley Bateman. Married Dale Royal Holt, Sr. on April 18, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1999. Melba was always active in church and loved having her family for gatherings of any kind. She was a long-time employee of the Newhouse Hotel and was a "master" of crossword puzzles.
Survived by her children: Janice (Milton) Holt Peterson, Dale Royal Jr. (Jeannette), Jay B. (Anita), and Bryce K. (Lorna); 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; 11 siblings; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Millcreek 9th Ward Chapel, 4220 South Jeannine Drive (420 East) in Murray. Friends and Family may call from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday evening at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street and on Monday at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Interment: South Jordan City Cemetery.
