Son of Mazie Lillian Ball and Thomas Fletcher Ball. Brother of Dr. Thomas Frederick Ball. Graduate of Connersville High School, Indiana University (where he was a member of the National Society of Scabbard and Blade) and the Institute for Executive Growth at Earlham College. U.S. Army veteran of World War II (Pacific Theater) and the Korean Conflict, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Elected to the City Council of Connersville, Indiana and appointed to the Board of the Kokomo-Center Township Consolidated School Corporation. He was director of personnel and services at Richmond Power & Light at the time of his death. Prior to that, he had been a purchasing agent at Roots Blower Company in Connersville and at Kingston Products and Northern Indiana Supply Company in Kokomo. Married Betty Ann Duncan at Jasonville, Indiana December 29, 1956. Two sons: Charles Thomas and David Jiles. Member Central United Methodist Church, Connersville Elks, 32nd Degree Mason (Scottish Rite).
