She married first Burton Gorton Oct. 9, 1895. With him she had four children: Grant, Blanche, Rena, and Guy. Josie married 2nd Allen Thompson July 17th, 1909 in Bristol, Vt. Their children were: Ward and Keith Thompson.
She is predeceased by husbands Burton Gorton in 1906 and Allen Thompson in 1930 and son Ward Thompson in 1954. She is predeceased by a brother Vernon Sargent in 1946. She is survived by children: Grant Gorton, Blanche Sweet, Rena Mitchell, Guy Gorton and Keith Thompson.
