On June 12, at home, in the loving arms of his wife and children, Bruce Pantani, died without pain and in peace. He faced his illness with realism, courage, and hope that he would be one of the lucky ones. In the end he was not.

His family was his reason for living. The proof of this is his children's devotion and dedication to him, their mother and their own families. His proudest accomplishment was seeing his family together, laughing and loving each other. The mention of his children and grandchildren brought an instant smile to his face and warmed his heart. Not only did he smile at them, he made them smile back. Everyone wanted to be with him and his off beat sense of humor.

He loved to travel and was blessed to have shared many adventures, at the beach or in the mountains, at the side of his life long best friend, his wife.

The holidays were always a special time for Bruce, He was very generous and found great joy in providing abundant gifts to children in need. This is a tradition which his children have joined him in. You would also see him every year in the town Christmas parade, driving his big red caddy, lit up with Christmas lights.

He was the owner of B. Pantani and Sons Builders for the past 42 years. Since the mid 80's he has built well over 150 homes in the Branford area. In 1998, he was awarded builder of the year, by the Home Builders Association of New Haven County. He was also a past vice president of the same organization.

In addition he was a deacon and a board member at the First Baptist Church of Branford, a third degree master Mason; he served on the Branford Sewer Commission, was a past little league coach and scout leader.

He was born September 29, 1941. He was predeceased by his mother Eunice MacKenzie.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 46 years Johanne. He is also survived by his son Bruce and his wife Renee, his daughter Janice and her husband Thomas, his son Dennis and his wife Laura, and his daughter Donna and her husband Steven. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Michael, Chandler, Jacob, Christopher, Gabby, Sophia, Jessie, Noah, Maggie and Emma. He was a loved Pa and will be missed.
