Sara Longnecker was the daughter of Peter and Mary Longnecker. She married William Coupland Brownlee, son of Thomas Brownlee and Elizabeth (Coupland) Brownlee, on October 19, 1893 in Henry County, Illinois. All four of these people are buried in Galva Cemetery.

"Sara Brownlee, 76, Well Known In Galva, Dies
Former Galvan Passes At Home In Iowa.
Interment services for Mrs. Sara Brownlee, 76, widow of the late William Brownlee, who passed away Saturday morning [September 29] in Iowa City, were conducted Monday afternoon [October 1] at 2 o'clock at Galva cemetery.
The funeral party arrived here Monday afternoon from Iowa City, and services were conducted at the cemetery in charge of Rev. Owen, pastor of Congregational church in that city. Two song selections were given by Mrs. Florence Best of this city, "Still With Thee" and "All As God Wills."
Mrs. Brownlee suffered a broken hip as a result of a fall last March and had been confined to the hospital at Iowa City until about three weeks ago when she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas E. Martin, in Iowa City. She passed away early last Saturday morning.
Relatives of the deceased attending the services included the two daughters, Mrs. Harold A. Clearman of Oxford, Iowa, and Mrs. Thomas E. Martin, of Iowa City, and their families; Mrs. Alice Welch, of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Burnett, of Buda, and others. Following the services the relatives were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Boyd for lunch.
Taught In High School.

The family later moved to Galva where Mr. Longenecker was in the furniture and undertaking business for several years. The daughter taught in Galva high school and also in Cambridge high school for a few years, being assistant principal here for some time.
On October 19, 1893, she was united in marriage with William C. Brownlee here, who for several years was associated with his brother Joe in the Brownlee Bros. Lumber company here. Mr. and Mrs. Brownlee later moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where he was in the shoe business for about 20 years. They also lived for a time in Springfield and in Kewanee.
Mr. Brownlee passed away July 21, 1932, in Oxford, Iowa, and was buried in Galva cemetery. Since that time Mrs. Brownlee had made her home with the two daughters in Iowa.
Surviving are the daughters, Mrs. Harold A. Clearman, Oxford, Iowa, and Mrs. Thomas E. Martin, Iowa City; and one sister, Mrs. I[saac] D. Page, of Princeton. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
