Funeral services for Leonard "Jack" Brown will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Brown died Saturday at his home in Ferndale. He was 67. Born on December 8, 1929 in Alva, Oklahoma to Leonard and Anna (Roller) Brown, he graduated from Dryden High School with the Class of 1948. A Whatcom County resident for 35 years, Mr. Brown retired after 20 years in the U. S. Navy and served for 10 years in the Navy Reserves. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fleet Reserve Association and was a musician in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leonard Brown; and a sister, Norene Hagan. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; daughter, Yoleta Shelton of Anacortes; son, John Brown of Tacoma; step-daughter, Teresa Halloran; sister, Lorene Loops of Cottonwood, Arizona; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
