Ebenezer was the son of John Fisher (b. Dedham, now Needham, May 2, 1688) & Elizabeth (Hunting) Fisher (b. April 28, 1709). He married Sarah Chubb of Needham on April 10, 1744. They lived in Needham where Ebenezer was justice of the peace from 1751 to 1761 and was selectman in 1769. At the Lexington Alarm, he had the rank of sergeant in the Dedham Regiment which marched from Dedham and served nine days. He enlisted with the rank of Corporal in the Needham Regiment in April 1775, and served over three months. During March, 1776, he performed service as a corporal in the Needham Company that assisted in taking Dorchester Heights. In October, 1776, he held the rank of sergent in Ephraim Wheelock's Regiment stationed at Ticonderoga. After the war, he became captain of the company of Needham Militia.

Ebenezer & Sarah had nine children.

He descended from Daniel Fisher one of the original settlers of Dedham. His father was John Fisher, the son of John Fisher, whose remains repose at the right in this Cemetery, and who was the son of the above named Daniel.
