Mrs. Newman died Aug. 11 at her Wellington home.
She was born in Mobile, Alabama June 20, 1921, to Isaac and Hazel Mitchell Ogletree.
A Wellington resident for more than 17 years, Mrs. Newman enjoyed crocheting, doing needlepoint, feeding the wild birds and rabbits and is remembered as a fantastic cook. She was a devoted and caring homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Newman, of Wellington; sons, Patrick Rumsey, of Fort Bragg, California, and Richard Newman II, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Sandra Valerie, of Santa Rosa, California; and brother, Aubrey Mitchell, of Louisiana.
