The son of William Scott and Edith Hall, Lafayette Scott served during the Civil War in Co. H, 26th Reg't, Ohio Inf. On Aug. 18, 1869, he married Mary A. Roberts in Hardin Co. Ohio; Mary died in 1897 (no known children). The stone may have been simply a grave footstone and has no readable inscription and is next to the monument of Alfred and Minnie (Scott) Price. Lafayette is known to have spent his last years living with Alfred and Minnie Price (Minnie was his niece).
