DON G. FIKE:
Don G. Fike, 83, of Fulton, died Saturday, January 21, 1989, at the Callaway Community Hospital.
Mr. Fike was born August 15, 1905, in Laclede County, the son of Douglas and Nancy (Gardner) Fike. He married Margaret Peterson and she preceded him in death in 1971. He later Jane Bierdeman on August 5, 1978 and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann Atkinson of Kingdom City, Missouri and Helen Sue Williams of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren, Jeffery, Douglas and Angel Atkinson of Kingdom City, Missouri and David, Ruthie and Grant Williams of Houston, Texas, one brother, Claud Fike of Mesa, Arizona, one sister, Bessie Chambers of Competition, Missouri, many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Douglas Fike, seven brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Fike had owned and operated the Hydro Gas Company, Fikes Trailer Park and the Fulton Drive-in Theater. He was a member of the Fulton Lions Club where he served as Past District Governor 26B and Past President and was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge for more than sixty years, The Ancient Gassers Association and the first Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Fike will be conducted by the Reverend Charles Lee at 2:00pm Monday, January 23, 1989, at the Maupin Fumeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 1989 from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club Eye Tissue Bank or to the charity of the donors choice.
