Officer Fred E. Brandhorst, DSN 3202, of 4525 (A) Mary Avenue, entered into rest, Thursday, September 20, 1945, 5:35 p.m.

Officer Brandhorst suffered a severe heart attack and was taken to DePaul Hospital on 09/06/1945 for treatment. He expired 2 weeks later. He was only 39 years of age. Officer Brandhorst was a "Motorcycle Policeman" with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Departments' Traffic Safety Division.

Officer Brandhorst was the husband of Marcella A. Brandhorst (nee Morrison) dear son of the late Frederick Brandhorst and Emma Brandhorst Stromberg, dear stepson of William Stromberg, dear brother of Mrs. Arthur Lamburth, Mrs. Edward Schmuck, Mrs. Marvin Neese, Earl and Leroy Stromberg and the late Mrs. Ruth Staebell, dear brother-in-law, uncle and nephew.

The wake for Officer Brandhorst was held at the Math Herman Funeral Home, located at 2161 East Fair with internment at Friedens Cemetery on 09/22/1945.
