Mrs. Catherine M. Corcoran, widow of David E. Corcoran, was born April 11, 1885, near Raeville, Boone county, Nebraska, to John and Anna Sievers Lohoff. She passed away at Madonna Home, Lincoln, on Tuesday morning, December 31, 1968, at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 20 days. She was one of eight children, seven of whom predeceased her.

She spent her girlhood near Raeville and attended school there. She married David Corcoran at St. Michael's rectory, Albion, Nebraska, on April 26, 1904. The Corcorans farmed in the Albion, Cedar Rapids, and St. Edward communities. To the union were born six children: Mrs. Louis (Henrietta) Quinlan of Lincoln, Mrs. W.A .(Cecelia) McCarty of Basking Ridge, N.J., Mrs. Carl (MaryJean) Lyon of Omaha, Leo T. Corcoran of St. Edward, Francis L. Corcoran of Modesto, California, and Martin, Deceased. There are 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Corcoran lived 27 years in Lincoln, where she was a former employee of the Miller and Paine Tea Room, and diet kitchen at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She was quite well known in this community. She often visited her son, Leo and family, and renewed friendships and acquaintances of long standing.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 2, 1969, at 10 a.m. from the St. Edward Catholic church by Father James Brady. Burial in St. Edward Cemetery.
