The son of Jessie Oliver Browning, born May 29, 1827 in Alabama, and Martha Callie Farrington Browning born about 1830 in Crawford County, Arkansas. They were married in Clark County on November30, 1849, and she died in Caddo, Clark Co., AR on March 6, 1905.

Jesse Oliver Browning entered the ministry in 1857. Was once sent as Missionary to the Choctaw Indians. Brother Browning was highly esteemed as a minister, as a standard bearer in hoisting the banner of truth in the conflich with error in this section. We feel that a great man in Israel is fallen asleep in Jesus.
