Henry Babbitt age 36 years enlisted at Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, on March 3, 1865, as a private in Co. I, 102nd Pennsylvania Infantry; mustered out June 23, 1865. His wife's name was Almira. She applied for a veteraan's widow's pension in Michigan, August 2, 1888; cert. #325915.

In 1870 Henry and his wife, Almira, and two children were shown living in Ashtabula County, Ohio. Occupation: Minister. He is buried in a lot with the family of John Wesley Long and his wife, Matilda. It is unknown what his relation was to Wesley or Matilda.

Cemetery Records incorrectly show his name as Henry B. Abbitt serving with Co. J, 102nd Pennsylvania Infantry.
