Mary Sue Nichols Grisso, 87, of Rocky Mount, Va., formerly of Salem, Va., passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008. She was born on December 31, 1920. Sue was the daughter of the late E. Randolph and Eula Clair Nichols. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Beverly A. Young; and her second husband, B. Melvin Grisso; her sisters, Marie Brady, Willie Mae Early and Kellen Keys; and brother, Eddie Nichols. Sue is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Young Boyd and Warren R. (Butch) Boyd; stepsons, Bobby Grisso and wife, Diane, and Danny Grisso and wife, Gail. She is also survived by nephew, Denny Early Jr. and wife, Donna; and their children, Lauren and Tyler, of Roanoke, Va.; niece, Ann Koeze and husband, Robert, of Charlottesville; nephew, Sonny Keys and wife, Sarah, of Richmond, Va.; nephew, Ranny Keys and wife, Sandy, of Chapin, S.C.; niece, Dianne Taylor and husband, Joe, of Taylorsville, N.C.; niece, Tina Ford and husband, Eddie, of Blue Ridge, Va.; niece, Stephanie Nichols, of Ohio; and a devoted friend and care-giver, Carlene Hall. She was a member of First Christian Church, Roanoke, Va., since childhood. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Jim Rivers officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 11, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
