Willie Mae Nichols Early, 71, of Roanoke, died Friday, December 26, 2003. She was a member of the Roanoke Women's Club, Sigma Tau Delta and was also active in the Junior Women's League of Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Denny Gene Early, Sr.; her parents, E. Randolph Nichols and Clara Wheeler Nichols; and two sisters and a brother. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Denny G. Early, Jr. and Donna Goodwin Early; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lauren Early and Tyler Goodwin Early; one sister, Mary Sue Nichols Grisso; a sister-in-law and her husband, Nancy Early Woodson and Fred A. Woodson; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and her pet Heidi. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev, Jim Rivers and the Rev. Carl Tinsley officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Flowers are welcomed or memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 530 East Main Street, Suite 200, Richmond, Virginia 23219. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 28, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel {989-3131}.
