Evalyn Murl (Allen) Lang (February 13, 1909 - March 31, 2000)
Evalyn Murl (Allen) Lang, age 91, of Lusk, passed away March 31, 2000 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas, Wyo.
Funeral services were Monday, April 3 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Pastor Don Chanselor of the Congregational Church officiated. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.
Evalyn was born February 13, 1909 at Valley, Neb., to Minnie Tabler Allen and Louis Allen. When she was a small child, she moved with her family to Wyoming, where they homesteaded in the Prairie Center community.
On July 29, 1925 she married Edward Lang. They were the parents of one daughter, Shirley.
They lived in the Prairie Center, Jay Em, and Rawhide communities until 1949 when they moved to Lusk. She gave piano lessons for a number of years and helped her husband run a Rawleigh Route.
She was very active in the Senior Center and was a member of the Congregational Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward and two sisters.
Evalyn is survived by her daughter, Shirley and her husband Bud Owens of Lusk; one brother Edward and his wife Celeste Allen of Torrington; two grandchildren Terry Owens of Rancho Viego, Texas and Lanette Evers of Spearfish, S. D. ; three great-grandchildren; Garth and Reeve Evers of Spearfish, S.D.. Christea Reiser and her husband Nate of St. Charles, Mo. and one great-great-grandchild Skylark and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Memorials have been designated to the Niobrara Senior Center in Lusk or the Congregational Church in Lusk. Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of funeral arrangements.
