She was a loving mother of three children, six stepchildren, and 18 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie G. Barton of Abilene, Texas, and will be laid to rest next to him.
She is survived by daughter, Pam Hults, husband Michael Hults and grandson Graham of Baton Rouge; son, Ben Barton, granddaughter Kardigan and fiancé Jennie Callaghan and daughter Madison of Dallas; son, Matthew MacDonald of Burnett, Texas; stepsons and their wives, Brian and Cheryl Barton of Caldwell, TX and their three children, Brad and Leah Barton of Tyler, Texas and their three children, Bruce and Beth Barton of Baird, TX and their three children; stepdaughters and their husbands, Beth and Paul Mancino of Escondido, California and their two children, Brenda and Rick Trafton of Amarillo, TX and their two children, Becky and Daylon Smith of Lubbock, TX, and their two children.
Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas on Friday, January 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Highway 277 South. A visitation will follow at the Abilene Country Club.
Her humor, loving kindness and friendship will be sorely missed by family and friends. A Christian, and a cancer survivor, she "fought the good fight" until the end and never failed to thank God for the blessing her children and grandchildren brought to her. The angels are surely rejoicing and probably laughing it up with her.
