James Bunnel came to the Henley area in 1908. In 1942 he married Helen Marie and they farmed in the Henley area until moving to Merrill/Malin in 1946 where they continued farming until retirement in 1973. They raised four children: Betty (Ottoman), Barbara, Ron and Shirley (Micka). The whole family enoyed playing music, and for many years Jim and Marie played for local dances, often in the Broadway Hall. Jim enjoyed team roping in local rodeos. Upon retirement they traveled extensivel. They truly enjoyed thier life in the Malin area with their family and many friend throughout the basin.
