Conrad (Happy) Bennett, age 60, of Gary, passed away Monday, August 6, 1979. Survivors: wife, Lucille; two sons, Rev. Roy (Ramona) Bennett of Charlestown, Indiana, and Johnny (Joyce) Bennett of Hammond; six daughters, Mrs. Betty (Earl) Bliss of DeMotte, Mrs. Sharon (Larry) Hardesty of Gary, Mrs. Brenda (Richard) Light of Florida, Mrs. Teresa (John) Freyek of Highland, Mrs. Cathy (John) Denham and Mrs. Deborah (Barry) Porter, both of Merrillville; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; parents, Mrs. Loga Bennett of Colorado, and Mr. Guy Lynn Bennett, also of Colorado; one brother, William (Betty) Bennett of Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Modine (William) McLimore and Mrs. Martelle (Garnet) Brant, both of Colorado, and Mrs. Mary Ruth (William) Chinn of Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, at 10 a.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J.R. Johnson officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman (2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.) Highland, McKinley Masonic Lodge memorial services conducted Wednesday 7:30 p.m. at the chapel.

Mr. Bennett was a member of the Centertown Masonic Lodge #714 F. & A.M. of Centertown, Kentucky, and the McKinley Masonic Lodge #712; retired from Blaw Knox; his CB handle 'Lawnmower Man.'
