Harry Case ran away from home in Wisconsin when he was about 13, and never returned. He and his dog went prospecting in Oregon where he met his wife to be, Edna Fields. They married and lived in Wallowa, Oregon until around 1921 when they bought a new Model T Ford and drove to Tenino, Washington
